The hosting instructions page has all the info, but everybody has a different network setup. Usually it's router and firewall that's blocking hosting.

I get this pretty often when hosting bio... or other map generaters... and when I get it.... my whole screen of lux maximizes unmaximizes maximizes... etc. until I finnaly wither get the screen up to exit b/c it gets put behind the screen when it maximizes or I just use the task manager... next time I will send a /debug right after it happens

hi im new to lux and im having trouble setting up my game i have forwarded my ports and have checked my firewall a message comes up saying

error connecting to lux tracker host port 6619 is un reachable

Ok, I just poked around in the Lux folder and found two logs that I hope are what you need...

Dustin, since my game screen is completely frozen, is there another way to get some log to you?

Im guessing there's a record of some sort located in the Lux game folder that might be helpful.
Tell me what you need and I'll forward it to you. This is becoming a big problem for my host.

happened again , was gonna send the log in, but the error completely freezes the game screen. all I could do was close Lux and restart.

I've had that error message in the past on prior versions of lux and it forced my host to crash and I had to rehost. This time around I've not encountered or had that problem yet.

p.s. Grim I'm just wondering do you use a mac or PC? I'm using my PC to host right now.

Well ... this particular bug appears upon restart and forces a rehost ... I never saw it prior to Lux 6.05 ... it's been particularly troublesome in the last three days ... seen it a dozen times ... hosting on a fully updated OS X 10.5.8 system ... and I can't pin the troubles on any recent changes to my installed software ...

Any suggestions dustin ... ?

Go to http://www.java.com and install the most recent version of Java.

Issue a /debug command in the chat if that doesn't work.

I just downloaded the newest version of lux, and for some reason it always resizes my info box too small so that i can't see the bottom most players info. Is this a bug or am i just completely missing something. Btw, this is the windows version.

Hmmm... no smoking gun as to the cause but I can see Lux not finding the right theme, but I'm not sure why.

Suggestion: go to www.java.com and update the Java version on your computer. The one you have now is old.

Still happening ... I tried switching from Deux to Alexander's Conquest (large) via the main window not /map ... auto-start was engaged but the change didn't take ... then manually rs'ed three more times ... nothing ... so I switched back to Deux ... rs'ed ... then back to Alex again ... and it finally worked ... but who knows why ...

The current version of AirPort Utility (5.4.2) works with OS X 10.4 and up ... and your choice of ISP isn't gonna magically alter your router admin software ... neither Snow Leopard nor Verizon is the issue here ... obviously something else is amiss that you've overlooked or failed to mention ...

I'm on Snow Leopard too, and that's what I see.

My point is that everyone's setup is different. If you have weird network things, then you're going to have to do some investigative work yourself, because I can't see your setup!

That's my point, it is not there when I updated to Snow Leopard ... jeez dude, it's not like I'm flailing around making a big fuss, I'm simply trying to get help.

I will take a screenshot if you don't believe me, but there is -no- port mapping tab any longer.

Perhaps it's Snow Leopard, or perhaps it is Verizon FiOS that caused it, I don't know.

Airport Utility -> Advanced tab -> Port Mapping.

I found that by looking around in airport utility. Do you really need us to do that for you??
