I think it would be kinda nifty if on the player profile page the lowest seed weight was displayed, along with the rank of that seed.
i feel this is important because there is often large discrepancies between weights (some people reach 1st seed with a weight of 10, while others get down below 3)

just thought it might be a cool feature

In the plugin manager we have a "New Releases" and a "Top Rated" section. How about a new section called something like "User Reccomendations" that gets updated every month. So every month we could have a thread in the Map Room asking for people's favorite maps and suggestions to put in this section.

We could have a month dedicated to a particualr author, or a particular theme (ie hex maps). This would give older maps the opportunity to stay in the limelight.

What do you think?

I like to request some more options to highlight my maps in the plug-in list.
Sine BEHEMOTH started it, everyone is using CAPITALS now (see the BETAs).
So i would like bold, underlined, blinking, colors, etc.

Another option is to go back to lower case, but that may be too dull....

I'm planning to make a new map as soon as i have some time but I thought that for the particular subject that i've picked it would be nice to have buildings rather than armies over the countries.

It would make it seem like a real estate war rather than an army battle.

so in the same way you have soldier - horse - cannon,

i was thinking of having a house - building - skyscraper.

i found these pictures as an example.

if anyone has any better sets of buildings that we could use please post them here

Hi Dustin !

Would it be possible for you to add the killer's nick name in the player lines for future lux versions ? Something like

Code:

<player id="2" nick="Shaft" position="6" rounds="3" raw_change="-3" raw_new="371" seed="" killed_by="the_killer" />

would be really great. Then a tourney of the style "take most kills" or another scoring system (gain score points from people you have killed) would be possible...

cheers...

Been playing a lot of Ancient Empires Lux and having a fun time. Last time, the city of Memphis changed hands about a half dozen times between the Sea People, the Memphis defenders, and my Thebans.

I had to think, as the city changed hands over and over, how this couldn't really be good for its municiple functions. Some of those battles were pretty big. It got me to thinking of how cool it would be that the city has a maximum number of armies it could field, and every time it changes hands, it drops by one. Every turn that it goes through and entire round without changing, there would be a chance (maybe based on the game level) to come back up.

Some sort of graphic (maybe a cross-hatching) over the damaged square might be useful at showing how battered the burg was.

I suppose it could be used for provences as well, with a little thought.

I have no idea how this might impact the game.

I'm a zombie fan. Love watching moves like "28 Days Later" and "Zombieland".

It would be cool if Lux could be modified to allow zombie armies. The difference for zombies would be:

1) any armies they kill (in their attack phase) become zombies under their control

2) because they are mindless and stupid, they don't get cards.

It would be a laff riot to play classic risk with zombie bots stumbling about.

It would be better if instead of banning someone for language violations, you could gag them instead. The gag won't make them able to chat for the enforced period of time. I'm worried that users are banned when a simple gag would suffice.

Grim once made the suggestion that at a given turn when the players decide, there would be random explosions that would kill armies. I thought it was a good idea, but wondered how that could be implemented in the game without much programming. Now I thought that instead of explosions, the map would morph into a Bio5 map: that is, the same map, with the same troops, but with the bio kicking in.

I don't know anything about programming, but perhaps that would be easier to implement into the game since the feature already exist. The only difference is that it would kick in the middle of the game.
