Map Of The Week (MOTW) requests
Very well, Lux in Flux will be next weeks MOTW.
btw, I'd be great, and really helpful, if you guys would request more, so that we know what you want to see as MOTW. Just remember the rules from the first post. And old maps aren't necessarily off limits, as long as they haven't previously been MOTW.

Yeah sorry about that, I messed up and didn't have time to fix it by the time I left town. Lux in Flux will be MOTW on Jan 26.Digital Jihad wrote:Whatever happened to Lux in Flux? It got replaced by Fertile Basin.
Castle Nano should be fun. Seeing as how it's so small MOTWers will be able to fit in lots of games, which might make all hell break loose in the rankings, which in turn will cause a flood of MOTW complaint threads. Hold on to your pants the week of Feb 02.

Roman Empire 1
Utah Wars
Florida
Canada DeLUX
Devil's Brigade
Wisconsin - Cheese Heads Map
Wyoming - The Cowboy State
Castle Lux MP
California - Thespian Onslaught
Maryland
Shrooms
West Virginia Civil War
connecticut under seige
South Carolina Revolution.
I'd love to see any of those up for MOTW sometime in the near future if and where possible. My only beef with Castle NANO is that it is a 4 player game and even at that the map is crowded. Besides the glory of MOTW if fullhouse wins, and a full house of 4 isn't near as much fun as a fullhouse of 6.

Hey Crim, most of those are repeats. I don't know about shrooms though... Anyway, they can't repeat.
I spent about an hour going through looking for some requests... I need to find my list :/mbauer wrote:If you'd like a specific map to be featured as MOTW, please post here. Some notes:
1) Post the name of the map along with a link to the map's webpage so there's no mixups and people can see details.
2) If you'd like to discuss a map in more detail, start a new thread with your thoughts (or look for a thread about that map and post there).
3) No Classic or variants. MOTW is about encouraging alternative maps. (World maps are OK)
4) Maps can only be MOTW once. Click here to see a complete list of past MOTWs
5) The sweet spot for multi-player maps is 40-60 countries. The closer your map is to that size the better chance it has of becoming a really popular MOTW.
would be unfair for someone who won't get to play any motw games for the next 1 1/2 month to ask a map that would force others to play.
that said, i would love though for Nuclear Lux to be put as motw after i come back from my vacation since i would really love to play this with others.
you hear MB?
i know you can't wait for it to be put on (great map btw)
but please put it after feb 17th
(would be nice to be on the week starting 3/1 since i will have a full week free of work or anything else and get to play a few games in it )

I know. But I'm throwing in the ones I liked in hopes that someone might expose me to some others of similar style or enjoyment. Frankly MOTW got me into playing so many different maps and I've not found many to be all that enjoyable in months. So I will keep looking, its just I had large frustrations with Castle Nano.Odelay wrote:Hey Crim, most of those are repeats. I don't know about shrooms though... Anyway, they can't repeat.

I'll see what I can do.Enokrad wrote: you hear MB?
Sorry to hear you are frustrated by Nano and the other recent picks. We really do try to please as most people as possible with our picks for MOTW, but we are limited to what gets submitted and what is not a repeat. So it's inevitable that some weeks will be weaker than others, and some picks you will not like as much. There's not a lot we can do about that other than trying to fit in the requests of you and the community as best we can. And we always do just that. So my advice is to just stick through, after-all it's only 1 week.crimsonhosking wrote:Frankly MOTW got me into playing so many different maps and I've not found many to be all that enjoyable in months. As Odelay said, most of your requests look like repeats but I'll go through your list to find the ones that aren't and fit those in the schedule as best I can.
thanks,
MB
Well crimson, of that whole list, those are the only 3 that haven't been MOTW yet. So, I always like to start at the bottom of lists and work my way up. Shrooms will be MOTW on Feb 09. Thespian Onslaught will be MOTW on Feb 23, and Cowboy State will be MOTW on March 09.crimsonhosking wrote: Wyoming - The Cowboy State

The problem with that is, the schedule changes a lot. If a new map gets submitted that would make a good MOTW it usually replaces an older map. Or when someone requests a map it might replace a map that wasn't requested. Or we might move dates so as to not have two similar maps back to back. Point is, it changes quite often so we'd constantly have to change the calender also.C-Rex wrote:Why not have a post as a Sticky with a MOTW schedule for the next months?
Just an idea.
Also, this thread sort of is a MOTW calender, if you look at my last post you will know what the MOTWs will be for the next month and half.
I have your map Mediterranean Empires scheduled for March 23, would you like me to replace it with Galaxy Conquest?Nimrod7 wrote:Galaxy Conquest!!!

Oops, i think that is a mistake too....
Mark, it is your job to avoid such problems... Isn't it?
I'll change it.... And i'll improve pathing in the peripheral countries too....
And btw.....
I agree that holding the central castle is a large advantage...
But also great for MOTW, because teaming is necessary.
Not against one player in particular, but just against the one holding Reaper's castle at that moment. The winning strategy could be to avoid central castle......
