You are a prisoner at the infamous special camp. Your task: Escape From Colditz! You can escape from the castle, but there is only one way in! Will German efficiency overcome British resolve? Will Dutch ingenuity triumph over Polish daring? Will the cheese eating surrender monkeys finally achieve something?! Recommend setting your country border setting to 1/3 or less at the thin end of the scale so you can see which countries connect and which are just close but not connected rooms. All internal continents connect from the courtyard via one stair passage and have at least one escape exit. NB, the cells do not connect to the interior of the castle! There are several one way rooms that make planning difficult. Deciphering the map is half the challenge! Enjoy! Theme allows tunnels and air routes as part of concept and therefore allows explorations of map topology and perception. The map is made to challenge human perceptual advantages of grouping and pattern recognition. The full consequences of backdoor routes and topology are not easy to perceive, and area does not equate to power. Confusing these factors dulls the edge of human players over the AI. Continent bonuses are kept low to give chance and the AI players more of an edge. With low bonuses and card rewards (5,5,5 recommended) strategy becomes far more difficult for humans. The next major version (2.0) will have a far prettier background picture, appropriate gothic lettering, 120 rooms and more escapes. All suggestions welcome. If someone artistic wants to help make a better background map and foreground textures for the rooms let me know.
