The town of Luxville has lost its grandeur since the departure of Lord Quasar a few years ago. He left to establish the new village of Voxington, and rumors abound that he's soon leaving there to open a new pet store somewhere - specializing in kitty cats if you believe the gossip.
His old mansion on on the ouskirts of town has withered over the years, and is now overrun with weeds and vermin. Parents like to scare their children by claiming it's a haunted place, yet even adults wake up in the middle of the night every once in awhile - awakened by eery noises coming from that direction.
For the past few weeks a rash of pets have gone missing, and the woods are much quieter than they used to be. A newspaper article recently speculated that a new Mafia gang was trying to get a foothold in Luxville. Neighbors are getting suspicious of each other and BarStar reports that sales at his Army Surplus store are booming...
General Rules
- It is okay to PM other players.
- People who edit their posts will slip on a banana peel and crack their head open.
- People who talk in the thread during the night will not wake up in the morning.
- People who post information in the thread that they're not allowed to reveal will be struck by lightning.
- People must follow all of the Forum Rules, including no posting PMs.
- During registration, feel free to PM the moderator if you object to any players that have signed up. If more than three players object to someone before roles have been assigned, that person will not be allowed to play.
- Days and nights will switch at 8PM Eastern Time.
- The game will begin on Day 1, but no voting will take place until Day 2.
- Innocent civilians may purchase only one of the special items listed below from the Army Surplus store by sending a PM to the moderator. They may make this purchase during the day at any point in the game, but they can only shop at the Army Surplus store once. The Army Surplus store has an unlimited supply, so all innocent civilians could technically buy the same thing.
- Items may be given to other players during the day as long as they PM the moderator before the voting deadline. Any item transfer PMs received afterwards will occur at night. Items may also be thrown away.
- During the day, people will vote for who to put on death row. Vote totals will not be posted. In case of a tie, all of the top vote getters will be sent to death row.
- Abstaining does not count as a vote for yourself. However, not voting at all does count as a vote for yourself.
- Players will not be automatically killed if they do not vote for two days in a row.
- Once the voting deadline has passed, the convicted criminal(s) will be sent to jail and people may PM the moderator their night actions.
- People in jail may not perform any actions at night and may not transfer items.
- At dawn, the inmates on death row will be executed and the results of the night actions will be posted.
- Roles will be revealed upon death.
- Sheriff* - Investigates one person to learn whether they're innocent or guilty. Starts the game with a handgun.
- Deputy* - Gains the Sheriff's abilities if the Sheriff dies. Starts the game with a handgun.
- Homicide Detective* - Investigates one person to learn whether they've ever killed anybody. Starts the game with a handgun and a lie detector.
- FBI Agent* - Investigates one person to learn whether they're a Serial Killer. Starts the game with a handgun and a bulletproof vest.
- ATF Agent* - Investigates one person to learn whether they own a gun. Starts the game with a handgun and a bulletproof vest.
- CSI Investigator* - Investigates one dead person to learn the names of everybody that has ever targeted that person (Steal, Mug, Frame, Convert to a Cult, Handgun Attack, Knife Attack, or Werewolf Attack) but not who did what. Starts the game with a handgun.
- Forensic Pathologist* - Investigates one person (alive or dead) to get their DNA. If the target was murdured, they also receive the DNA of the killer(s). Starts the game with a handgun.
- News Reporter - Either investigates a person to learn the names of who that person visited or writes an article describing any previous investigations. This article will then be published anonymously in the Daily News. Starts the game with a magic eight ball.
- Doctor - Visits one person and heals them from a single knife or gun attack during the night. They cannot heal themself.
- Nurse - Gains the Doctor's abilities if a Doctor dies.
- Governor - Every night, they can choose to pardon someone on death row. They cannot pardon themself, and they cannot pardon an individual more than once during the game. Starts the game with a hanging chad.
- Lawyer - Every night, they can choose to represent someone the next day. That person will be pardoned if lynched. They cannot represent themself, and they cannot get an individual pardoned more than once during the game. Starts the game with a hanging chad.
- Commuter - Leaves town every night, making them invulnerable to night attacks. Although innocent, they show up guilty in Sheriff investigations. They can only use items that don't attack or steal from other people.
- Innocent Civilian - A resident of Luxville without a special role.
- Godfather - A leader of a mafia that shows up innocent in Sheriff investigations. At night they can choose one person to kill, one person to frame, and one person to mug - provided there are enough Mafiosi to perform those jobs. If a Godfather is in jail for the night they can still give orders, but they cannot perform any actions themselves. If a Godfather is unconscious, they can't give orders. If a second-in-command was chosen, however, then that person will be able to make orders until the Godfather recovers. Starts the game with a never-ending supply of handguns and knives that they can give to fellow Mafiosi.
- Consigliere - A Mafioso that is chosen by the Godfather to frame one person at night. If the target is investigated by the Sheriff, they will show up as guilty.
- Hitman - A Mafioso that is chosen by the Godfather to kill someone at night. Godfather chooses whether they use a knife or gun.
- Goon - A Mafioso that is chosen by the Godfather to mug someone at night. The target will appear bruised the next day and lose any items they had to the Goon.
- Cult Leader - They can choose one person at night and recruit them into their cult. This conversion will fail if the target belongs to another cult, is in a mafia, is a Commuter, is a Serial Killer, is a Werewolf, or is a law enforcement officer. If the Cult Leader dies, then the earliest recruited Cultist alive becomes the new Cult Leader. Shows up guilty in Sheriff investigations.
- Cultist - A person converted to a cult. Cultist may not attack people at night, but they may still carry out other night actions. Shows up guilty in Sheriff investigations.
- Serial Killer - Tries to kill one person every night. If they don't submit a choice, then one will be chosen randomly for them. Shows up innocent in Sheriff investigations. Starts the game with a sniper rifle, handgun, and knife.
- Werewolf - Can choose to attack one person at night, which looks like a knife attack to investigators. If that target survives the night for any reason, they turn into a Werewolf. A Werewolf will survive any attack, but they won't be able to attack their target that night. A Werewolf can only be killed via public execution. Shows up guilty in Sheriff investigations.
- At the start of the game there may be more than one of each role, except for Werewolf.
- Starred roles (*) are law enforcement officials.
- Hanging Chad - The owner's vote will be counted twice.
- Bulletproof Vest - Can protect the owner from a gun attack. Everytime it stops a bullet, it loses 25% of its effectiveness. It does not stop a knife or Werewolf attack.
- Security Alarm - Can protect the owner's possesions from a break-in. It will also deter a mugging if the owner doesn't leave at night.
- Sniper Rifle* - The owner can attack a person without visiting them.
- Handgun* - The owner can attack a person with a gun.
- Knife* - The owner can attack a person with a knife and steal any possesions they may have.
- Brass Knuckles* - The owner can attack a person with brass knuckles, knock them unconscious, and steal any possesions they may have. The target will appear bruised the next day. (Occurs during attack phase, not during mugging phase)
- Lockpicking Set* - They owner can break into another player's home and steal any items that may be there. They will show up guilty in Sheriff investigations on nights they use this item. If a lockpicking set is being used, it cannot be stolen. (Only used during the break-in phase.)
- Bug* - The owner can plant this bug on someone, and learn who they visit at night. If a bug is being used, it cannot be stolen.
- Spy Camera* - The owner can plant this at someone's house, and learn who visits that person during the night. If a spy camera is being used, it cannot be stolen.
- Lie Detector* - The owner can use the Lie Detector by asking the moderator via PM whether a single statement made in the thread the previous day was true or false.
- Magic Eight Ball* - The owner will be given clues about the roles in the game if they choose to use it at night.

- If an attacker kills somebody with a knife, then they will get any special items their victim had. If an attacker kills with a gun, then they won't get any special items their victim had.
