This was wrong too. And to make matters worse, Behe gave me the right answer to put my mind at rest and I've seen it multiple times and now I'm just going to sob silently for a bit.The Wontrob wrote:Behemoth wrote:Answers to Clues 04 and 06 were spot on. No I won't tell you the answer.

I'm surprised players have stumbled on Clues 01, 03 and 07 which I thought would be easy-medium level difficulty. Also surprised players have done reasonably well on 02 and 06, which I thought would be difficult.
The only player to have answered 08 correctly so far is schroberts - another difficult one.
Reminder to submit answers before 10pm tonight! (Tues 10pm EST) Sign-ups are still welcome until then.
Although most players have submitted answers only Mud has gone the whole distance. There's no penalty for answering incorrectly so take a best guess if you're unsure. Players seem to be having the most difficultly with Clues 01, 03, 07 and 08. Listen again, it's likely you've seen these films.
ShockandAwe, jesterme and Mike have yet to submit anything.
End of round 1 tally...

Clues to Aliens, The Avengers and Snow White were obviously too tough for players and only schroberts heard that iceberg in 08. Well done schroberts.
... and well done team Blue Velvet. I was pleasantly surprised so many of you got 02.
If it's any consolation, three of the four players who took a tilt at 03 mistook The Avengers for Jurassic Park
Round 2 begins shortly

OK... some genuine help now for anyone trying to work out which movie the sample clue belongs to: The director also made one (at least) of the films in Round 1.Behemoth wrote:No.The Silken Knot wrote:Behemoth wrote: However... I'm gonna need all the help I can get! Is it Fargo?
It's not Fight Club or Reservoir Dogs either.
/me was happy to help.
Which film? That I cannot exactly say... on the up-side though, 2 of the 8 films in Round 1; Titanic and Aliens, were made by James Cameron, so that's one less director's filmography for you to consider.

No and no. But warm.Mud wrote:or Inland Empire?
Keep in mind the aim of Heard it? is to challenge a player's strength of recall more than their knowledge of film. For this reason lesser-known films, like Inland Empire (and some of my favourite films) won't appear in the quiz. Inland Empire grossed just 3.5 mil worldwide - not many people saw it. A film like Mulholland Drive is more likely to appear as it found a wider audience. It grossed 20 mil worldwide.
