PLAYOFF UPDATE

I am currently finalizing the official standings including today's awards and tomorrow's tourneys.

I expect the BARNACLES and BADENS will be playing in the first matchup.

Therefore, I will need both teams to be available tonight or early tomorrow for a handful of games.

(If either or both teams are unavailable, then we will move onto the next round immediately.)

Keep in mind that Sandy is barrelling down on the NorthEast, so some of us may end up without power. . . .

Monday 3pm Eastern US: Blistering Barnacles versus Inglorious Asshats.

(Hopefully both teams can show up sometime after then and hang around for a couple of hours.)

I'll explain more tomorrow, but the Badens are hereby disbanded.

(Or contracted, if you prefer sporting terms.)

OK, I have triple booked myself this Halloween. In order to move things around and or prioritize, can we determine approximately what time the finals will be?

Thank you in advance,
WP

Tropical Storm Sandy is going over us right now. I probably won't be able to play at all this week. Maybe not even next week.

I have something going on Halloween night at 6pm EST, but I should be available later that night... As far as Thursday and Friday go, I do not think I would be able to be available at all, since I work doubles both days, unless the games are later at night. This week is going to be tough for a lot of people, it seems. Earlier in the week is always better for me, but hopefully the scheduling will work out ok.

As long as I don't lose power any day SHOULD be ok with me... Just not during the early afternoon hours, in case I do happen to have school this week.

Scheduling these finals are gonna be a nightmare, folks. Given Halloween, Hurricane Sandy, individual time zones, personal vacations, etc., I can guarantee that some of you will be unable to represent your teams. I wish I could accommodate everyone, but that's gonna be impossible. Worse, if the storm wake is as bad as some are projecting, then these games might spill over into next weekend or even next week. I'd rather they not, but again, I'll try and find the best balance of wrapping things up asap, and trying to give all teams a decent chance to play with their preferred players.

Hopefully, the Asshats versus Barnacles match will conclude reasonably early today, so I can try jamming the next match — winner versus Mozafukas — into a time slot either late tonight, and / or early tomorrow. Then, by whatever miracle, the final two rounds could be played in some combination of late Tuesday, early Wednesday, or all day Thursday.

My team seems to have crumbled. We all seem to be on different schedules. :)

Tonight I was planning on being around for a good portion of the evening, but I'm having a hard time deciphering from the forums if the Badens are even IN the tournament anymore. I've had difficulty sifting through the forum posts to figure out what the tournament structure was going to be. My bad for not being a more vigilant Captain! A central Survivor sticky with a clear explanation of the tournament structure would be cool. I found it difficult to explain to my team exactly what to expect; we're all pretty busy. Mud did an amazing job trying to hold it together, but he's called it quits, and I don't blame him. I chose a lot of elusive teammates - and I didn't have the time to man the barricades, as it turned out.

I'm all for continuing the team games, and will Captain the Badens. Let's see if we can fall into a regular rhythm of games. I think once I get a clearer picture of what this is developing into, I'll be a better Captain.

Halloween night is out for me, unfortunately. I've got to work. Perhaps I'll see y'all around tonight?
