Tournament Details: final
Eligibility: Players should be able to manage two-way communication with Bean as well as fellow tournament competitors. A good way is to use this thread or Private Messages in this forum. Bean is not competing in the tournament.
The structure: Imperium Romanum Expletus 20 seconds, 25% cards. 20% conts. 1-on-1 tournament with 4 Preliminary games for everyone, followed by a break to around 50% of the pool for sudden death elimination rounds. Single games for preliminaries, with best 2-out-of-3 for eliminations, including the Final. Awards to semifinalists and finalists.
Procedure: Players have up to 10 days to play a 1-on-1 game with each of your assigned opponents. If a clean bracket cannot be made, then wildcard games may be assigned. Semifinalists will have 5 days to complete their best-of-3 rounds with assigned opponents and then 5 more days for the two Finalists to do their thing. Players can post their times in this thread for the convenience of any acolytes or fans. Each game result must be reported by number, time, and date in this thread.
If a player exits the game and let's their bot replacement win, they forfeit that game.
Only IRE 20 counts.
Special notes:
1. Any 1on1 games against your assigned opponents count, even if you hadn't made an appointment with them. So, don't play them unless you are ready.
2. Do not let other players in your game. It's a 1-on-1 tournament. The game won't count.
Click well.
Care for your carpal tunnel.
Old post: As you would expect after 10k games, I have not seen much new in Lux for awhile. I was excited for Castles a couple years. I liked when I found out about Bio Imperium. I didn't know how much I would like it when Pauley introduced me, but Cube Wars is sort of it's own thing. Love it.
Weirdly, I have found something new and exciting in Imperium. Just a simple change of settings. 25/20 Cards/Income. 20 second timer.
It is a brand new game and very fun. Sometimes it can be long, but I think it's just that we are not very good at it yet. It gets you to the end game relatively quickly and then it's hard to put it to bed because of the 20 seconds. It's not twitchy in the traditional sense. It just keeps going and really tests you. Landlord and I have played a few games and he hopefully will back me up here. It is very fun and totally new game dynamics.
Try it out. I'm thinking of organizing a 1 on 1 tournament with a bracket.
Thoughts? Entries for the vaguely defined tournament?
