Due to Lincoln's unfortunate assassination I propose we build a monument in his honor for future Luxers to admire and to spread his gospel. This could take the forum of a wiki page with all of Lincoln's quotes/teachings/premonitions

∞ mbauer pays for the semi-holy Church of Lux's broken stained glass window and proposes that the new one be built in Lincoln's image ∞

∞ mbauer picks up his serving tray of figs ∞

Figs I got figs here....Figs anyone!

I told you Lincoln was a false prophet, why would the creator of Lux, also create Booth, and then be destroyed by a presumeably lesser being? I suppose Booth used alt-control-delete or something like that...

come to the People's Judean Front, reform Church of Lux, where we only have 3 Cardinal Principles:

1. Monty Python
2. Pink Floyd
3. World Domination

We firmly Beleive that Dustin created Lux... and the rest of us are other worldly beings, who interact through computers and the internet (stay with me here, I know it sounds like a Matrix rip-off, but it is true)...

to learn more, reply to this thread, or start another one.. you truly have free will, away from the false prophet Lincoln, free of imaginary ducks and figs ets...

okay. splitting hairs, are we?!

Here's where the "mindful editing" part of the church is important.
Yes, Dyslexics have a genetic learning disability which may or may not lead to bad spelling.

Editing and spell-checking, even for Dyslexics, is as simple as copy and paste --Word or any other automatic text editor will point out the problems.

The Lux Church of Mindful Editing and Spelling seeks to reform the pervasive laziness of many who post.

So, Bad Spellers are not encouraged to unite. They are encouraged to be mindful of fellow Luxer's and spell-check.

I am also technically dyslexic but I do not self-identify as such.

The Lux Church of Mindful Editing and Spelling is so deadpan there are no cards to kill for.

I rescind my earlier proclamation to establish "a church" and instead, form the more appropriate "Lux Ministry of Mindful Editing and Spelling." Our code is the OED.

bravo! Literally, at work--hard at work, indeed!

The Ministry realized "Ministry" was a better play with words than the more neutral yet drab "Department"
;)

dear brothers,

luxmas is nearly upon us. and i fear we have yet to publish the semi-holy church of Lux, Luxmas hymnal. we must proceed with haste.

brother sasquatch has thou finished "we wish you a hairy luxmas" yet?

Preacherman i believe you were composing "duck the halls".

brother mb i am still waiting for the first draft of "joy to the fig".

and sister michelle where is your proposed "boinkin' around the luxmas tree"?

any other submissions are welcome.

peace, may lincoln be with you.
may you be inspired by saint dustin.

brother toro.

brothers,
the little lamb L33t has gone astray. he has decided to join mike church of satanic penis mutilation. please lift him up in prayer. even though he hasn't used his wee willy winky yet, it seems sad for him to lose his little python.

oh... and don't forget the bake sale on saturday. Preacherman is bringing his famous tobacco and coffee cookies!

Lincoln ROCKS on!
