NEW updating policy

Post by mbauer » Mon Jan 18, 2010 9:16 am

Dear Lux Cartographers,

We ask that in the future when you are updating maps that have already been released, that you please provide a detailed explanation in your map's description of exactly what has changed from the previous version. In other words, a version history.

For example, something like this at the end of your map's description:

Code: Select all

Version 1.1 - fixed typo
Version 1.2 - Changed bonus of "x" continent
version 1.3 - Updated theme graphics
This will help us out in the mapLAB because we'll know exactly what to check. We will only be checking to make sure no errors snuck in, so if there aren't any, you probably won't hear from us.

Thanks,
mapLAB

What's the fun in that? We need to make those MapLABers earn their salaries!

I wondered about this, I'm probably the worst culprit. Will do.

Whoops. I'm normally pretty good at that, but I got lazy with my "Desert" map update just now. We may use our own format for recording the change in the description, yes?

(Did anyone catch the shameless plug for my new map in the above paragraph?)

Yes, you can use your own format for update changes, as long as you include them somewhere in the description.
