The War of the Five Kings has begun!
Lead one of the five great houses to victory and a permanent seat upon the coveted Iron Throne.
- House Stark of Winterfell
- House Tully of Riverrun
- Houses Baratheon and Lannister of Storm's End and Casterly Rock
- House Tyrel of Highgarden
- House Martell of Dorne
In addition to these houses you may have to contend with House Arryn of the Eyrie, the barbarians beyond the Wall, and the fearsome House Greyjoy of Pyke which holds an important sea route.
Most castles are surrounded by a "siege zone" with a negative point value. This is meant to simulate the cost of besieging a heavily defended castle.
Keep in mind that not only do you lose points by taking a siege zone, but your opponent technically gains points. So be sure to end a siege as quick as possible.
You may be tempted to allow a siege to remain unbroken; this can be an effective way of increasing your men per turn. But be warned, the enemy can use that siege zone to attack virtually every surrounding territory. You must judge if it is worth the risk.
This map is balanced for starting scenario play, I recommend using a 2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4 card progression and a 5% increase per turn. Higher percent increases can be used, I find the map works best when most of your points come from territories as opposed to cards.Created by Baudolino. Version 1.1 released February 16, 2009.
